It holds equity investments in power projects that can produce 23 gigawatts, equivalent to the installed generating capacity of the Netherlands. SustainX is supported by GE Energy Financial Services as a result of being competitively selected to be a partner of the GE Ecomagination “Powering the Grid” project in late 2010.
Angeli parvi ("little angels") is a group of industry leaders who mentor aspiring Dartmouth entrepreneurs by guiding development of business plans and strategies. The group also provides a link to the venture capital community so that new entrepreneurs can secure funding to support prototype development, market testing and analysis, and travel for presentations.
Energy Storage Systems (ESS) Program of the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability at DOE. The goal of the ESS Program to develop advanced energy storage technologies and systems, in collaboration with industry, academia, and government institutions that will increase the reliability, performance, and competitiveness of electricity generation and transmission in the electric grid and in standalone systems. ESS has been instrumental in the research and development of energy-storage technologies and applications since the 1970s, especially as storage relates to electric utilities, renewables, and grid security. The DOE Energy Storage Systems Program works with Sandia National Laboratories, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the National Energy Technology Laboratory. The Program manages the $185 million ARRA Storage Demonstration program. SustainX received a $10.8M award from this program to design, build, and deploy a grid demonstration of its ICAES system. The ICAES demonstration will be sited with project partner AES Energy Storage.

NSF supports high-quality projects on important scientific, engineering, or science/engineering education problems and opportunities that could lead to significant commercial and public benefit, if the research is successful. SustainX has received both Phase 1 and Phase 2 awards from the NSF.|
