The SustainX competitive advantage is (1) radically lower capital and lifetime costs and (2) extremely long system lifetime (~15,000 cycles) coupled with low maintenance. Both of these advantages stem from our proprietary thermodynamic innovations and use of standard off-the-shelf industrial components with an ambient-temperature, nontoxic, noncorrosive working fluid (air).

• LOW COST The large gas operating pressure range (0–3,000 psig), along with isothermal gas compression and expansion (the latter allowing for recovery of heat not possible with an adiabatic cycle), achieves a ~7x reduction in storage cost as compared to classical CAES in vessels.
• LONG LIFETIME AND LOW MAINTENANCE Manufactured using off-the-shelf industrial hydraulic and pneumatic components, the SustainX ESS will complement the lifetime of renewable energy generators by providing up to 30 years of lifetime.
• SCALABILITY AND TRANSPORTABILITY Packaged in shippable containers, the ESS modules will allow SustainX to tailor power and storage capabilities to individual customer applications.
